Claire Wilkinson specializes in personal injury and insurance litigation. A large percentage of Claire’s practice is dedicated to assisting survivors of sexual abuse. Claire also represents persons seriously injured by motor vehicle collisions, medical malpractice, slips and falls, and other areas of personal injury, long term disability claims and insurance litigation.
Claire graduated from the University of Western Ontario in 1990, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Philosophy. Claire graduated with a Bachelor of Laws from Queen’s University in 1993, and was called to the bar in 1995. Claire has been practising law with Martin and Hillyer Associates in Burlington since 1995.
Claire is a past President of the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association (OTLA), and the Halton County Law Association. She also sits on the board of Mind Forward Brain Injury Services, and is an Ontario Governor for the American Association for Justice.
Claire is a frequent lecturer for OTLA and the Hamilton Law Association, and has also lectured for the Canadian Institute, the Halton County Law Association, Queen’s University, The Advocates Society, Canadian Defence Lawyers, the Ontario Bar Association, and numerous other groups.
In 2012 Claire received the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association Distinguished Service Award.
Claire was instrumental in initiating and developing the Martin & Hillyer annual bowl-a-thon which ran for over 20 years supporting multiple local charities. Claire plays hockey, and is the proud mother of two sons, a daughter, and three… yes, you read that correctly…. border collies.
