Any Burlington resident will tell you that the Sound of Music Festival is something we look forward to all year long. At the Sound of Music you can enjoy lots of food, live musical performances, sidewalk sales, warm patios (this year was very sunny) and many unique vendors. Martin & Hillyer Associates were proud co-sponsors of the Sound of Music Festival’s Streetfest.
Streetfest was held in the heart of Downtown Burlington on June 17-19 from Lakeshore to Maria. Those walking through Streetfest were able to enjoy the bounty of live music mixed with outdoor patios and sidewalk sales. Martin & Hillyer Associates supported this year’s Sound of Music Festival’s Streetfest alongside Burlington Downtown Business Association.
On Saturday a country-themed party on John Street had people bringing out their cowboy boots and joining the hoedown. Not only was there live country music to enjoy, but cowgirls and cowboys could go for a free mechanical bull ride, see some farm animals at the petting zoo or play a game of Giant Jenga. It was hard to be bored at Streetfest!
Some of the main musical performances at Saturday’s Streetfest included:
- Hell Bent Rockers
- Subourbon Street
- Retro Boogie
- Rich Cloke
- Olivia and the Creepy Crawlies
- Bianca Bernardi
- Andy Griffiths
- Ultimate Urban
- Blue Radio
Musical performances are the glue that holds the Sound of Music Festival and Streetfest together. Without their talent and exciting shows it wouldn’t be the Sound of Music.
Festivals like the Sound of Music are a big part of what makes our Burlington community so special. We are happy to support a festival that provides a safe and fun-filled weekend right on our Burlington Lakeshore.
